What is online blended learning?

Blending learning is a combination of e-learning or online learning with traditional classroom training. The online component is where you will focus on the theory components of first aid. The in class session will mainly focus on practicing the skills and apply the theory you learned online.

What courses can I take through blended learning?

Are the blended learning courses recognized by Occupational Health & Safety?

Yes. Upon successful completion of the required online knowledge evaluation and the classroom component, you will receive the same 3 year certification as the traditional classroom training.

How long does the training take?

Blended learning courses takes approximately the same amount of learning time as traditional classroom learning. However 50% of the course is done at home at your own pace, in your free time and 50% of the course is done in the classroom with an instructor. Your knowledge of computers, internet speed and previous first aid experience will influence the time it takes to complete the online portion.

How long do I have to complete a blended learning program?

You have as much time as you need to complete the online portion of the training. Once the online portion is completed you have 6 weeks to complete the classroom portion. If the classroom portion is not completed within 6 weeks you are required to purchase a second online PIN and retake the online component before attending the classroom portion.

Do I have to complete the online portion before I attend the classroom portion?

Yes. Verification of online component completion (proof of completion can be printed upon successful completion of all content) must be presented before attending the classroom component.
